林久祥，1969年于北京医学院本科毕业，1978年和1984年在北京医科大学攻读研究生，先后获医学硕士和医学博士学位。1988年已访问副教授身份赴美国印第安纳大学进修1.5年；1993年赴澳大利亚阿德来的大学及悉尼大学高访半年。现任北京大学副校长，口腔正畸科教授，主任医师，博士生导师；兼任中华口腔医学会口腔正畸专业委员会主任委员，口腔正畸专业医师委员会认证委员会主任委员，全国医学专业学位指导委员会委员，国际牙科学院院士，美国正畸杂志特约撰稿人，日本新泻大学客座教授。 业务专长：在严重或重大骨性牙颌畸形的非手术正畸治疗方面，取得突破性的重大进展，具有独到之处和权威性，先后承担国家863科技攻关、自然科学基金课题及省部级重点课题10余项，在国内外发表论文150余篇，出版专著10余本，获省部级科技成果奖15项，国家专利两项，培养研究生30位，其中博士生24位。1991年被国务院学位委员会及国家教委授予“做出突出贡献的博士学位获得者”称号，1992年获得政府特殊津贴待遇，1998年评为卫生部有突出贡献的中青年专家。
